Columbia is home. This is where I do business.

I live here, I raise my family here, and the folks I help are my neighbors — the ones I see at the grocery store and in the stands on Friday night. When I write coverage for someone, it is not a transaction. It is a promise I intend to keep.

I am an independent agent, which means I am not tied to one insurance company. I hold a life insurance license and a property and casualty license in Tennessee, so whether you are protecting your kids, your car, your house or the shop you built, I can look across several companies and help you find what fits.

My job is to make the confusing part simple, and to be the person you call when something actually happens.

More about Somer

What I can help you protect

Five things, mostly. If you are not sure which one you need, that is completely normal — tell me what is going on and we will sort it out together.

Life insurance

The one that takes care of the people you love if you are not there. Term and permanent coverage, including final expense.

  • Term coverage for the years your family needs it most
  • Permanent coverage that lasts a lifetime
  • Final expense, so no one has to pass a hat

Auto insurance

Cars, trucks, and the teenagers you are brave enough to hand the keys to. Tennessee requires it — I make it make sense.

  • Cars, trucks and SUVs for the whole household
  • Teen and new drivers added without the sticker shock
  • Bundled with your home or renters to save where it counts

Home insurance

Your house is probably the biggest thing you own. Homeowners coverage that actually fits the house and the life in it.

  • Homeowners coverage for the structure and your belongings
  • Newer purchases, older homes and rural properties
  • Straight answers on what is covered and what is not

Renters insurance

Renting does not mean starting over if something happens. Usually a small monthly amount, and it covers a lot more than people expect.

  • Your furniture, clothes, electronics and the rest
  • Somewhere to stay if the apartment is not livable
  • Often required by a lease — I can get you a certificate fast

Small business coverage

For the folks who work for themselves. Shops, trades, trucks and the people who depend on you getting the job done.

  • Small shops, offices and service businesses
  • Contractors, trades and vehicles used for work
  • Coverage sized to a small operation, not a corporation

Not sure where to start?

Most people start with a question, not a policy. Tell me what is on your mind and I will tell you honestly whether you need anything at all.

Ask me a question

Why work with an independent agent?

It comes down to options, and to who picks up the phone.

One company only has one option

Call a big brand directly and you get that brand’s price, whether it fits you or not. There is nothing to compare it to.

I can shop several companies at once

As an independent agent I am not tied to one carrier. I look across the companies I work with and bring you the ones that actually fit.

You keep one person to call

Not a call center, not a new name every time. When a question comes up — a new truck, a new baby, a storm — you call me.

Who I help

Columbia is where I live, and I work with families and small business owners all over Middle Tennessee. If you are in one of these towns, you are in my patch — and if you are just outside them, call anyway.

Questions people ask me

A few of the ones that come up most often. If yours is not here, ask it — I do not mind one bit.

Read all the questions

Nothing. Quotes are free and there is no obligation. You tell me what you are looking to protect, I shop the options, and you decide if anything is worth moving forward with.

Because I am not tied to one company. I can look across several carriers, compare what they offer, and help you find coverage that fits your situation and your budget. If something changes later, you still have one person to call.

Just the basics — your name, a good phone number, and a sentence or two about what you want covered. For auto that usually means your vehicles and drivers, for home it is the address and an idea of the home's age and size. We can sort out the details on the phone.

I hold a life insurance license and a property and casualty license in Tennessee, so I can help with life insurance, auto, home, renters, and small business coverage.

Please do. Most people start with a question, not a policy. Tell me what is on your mind and I will explain your options in plain English — no pressure and no jargon.

Columbia is home, and I work with folks all over Middle Tennessee — Spring Hill, Franklin, Murfreesboro, Lewisburg, and the smaller towns in between.
